Main Job Purpose

To support the Logistics/Admin Officer in enhancing office operations and ensuring staff welfare through the preparation of meals and the maintenance of a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment.

• Smooth operation of kitchen facilities and meal services

Accountabilities

• Oversee cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen area.

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and other meals as required.

• Plan daily menus and ensure timely meal preparation.

• Procure and store food items appropriately.

• Ensure adherence to food quality and hygiene standards.

• Maintain records of kitchen supplies and report any shortages.

• Prepare refreshments and meals for visitors and official meetings.

• Daily cleaning of kitchen utensils and cooking equipment.

• Utilize appropriate methods and equipment for food preparation.

• Monitor stock levels and request supplies as necessary.

• Dispose of food waste responsibly and uphold sanitation standards.

• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health procedures.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Internal: Logistics/Admin Officer, All Staff

External: Visitors and Guests

Work Environment

Indoors 95%, Outdoors 5%, 5 working days per week, 2 days off, Working Hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills and Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Education: Minimum primary education or vocational training.

• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in cooking.

• Languages: Proficiency in Somali is required; basic English is advantageous.
