    1-      Role Description

    CBS’s Galmudug State of Somalia Branch Teller will be in charge of processing financial transactions, keeping accurate transactions records, and offering outstanding customer service to the branch clients. The ideal applicant must be able to successfully communicate with customers and possess a thorough understanding of the bank’s services.

    2-      General Description

    The Central Bank of Somali’s Galmudug State of Somalia Brach is responsible for carrying out the Banks’ mission, vision, institutional policies, goals, and objectives as state level. To this end, the CBS’s Galmudug State of Somalia branch is in charge of fostering economic development and preserving the stability of the country’s financial system stability at state level. In addition, the state branch will be responsible for providing banking services to the state government “Galmudug State”, other financial services, commercial banks, and the public at state level.

    CBS Galmudug State of Somalia’s Branch Teller is a vital member of the branch’s client-facing team. The Teller will be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to answering client inquires, conducting financial transactions including deposit and withdrawal slips recordings when deposing and withdrawing of the cash and cheques are made.

    3-      Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assists branch’s customers with basic cash handling activities, including cheque processing cheque verifications, and withdrawing.
    • Ensures that at the end of each business day, the bank’s cash balances, and daily statements are equal.
    • Promptly responding to the clients’ inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
    • Detects any forgeries of the cheque and prevent any counterfeited notes during cash processing.
    • Identifies the customer by doing the right due diligence before the customer is served.
    • Maintains confidential client information in accordance with CBS’s policies and procedures.
    • Prepares counter-closing statements with the cashier.
    • Works as a team with other employees at the branch and demonstrates respect and professionalism.
    • Other duties as assigned by the branch manager/cashier.

    Education:

    ·         The ideal candidate for this position must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

    ·         Diploma in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field will be an added advantage.

    Work Experience:

    • At least 2 years practical experience in cash handling cash.
    • 1 year of hands-on work experience in Banking industry as a teller is preferred.

    Language:

    • Operationally fluent in Somali and fairly in English.

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with banking software and systems.
