    Under the supervision of the Information Management (IM) and and Analysis Advisor, the Lead Threat Analysis Specialist  will conduct and support programme-level IED incident and IED threat related analysis. S/he will be responsible for the following functions:

    Advertisements
    • Identification of information requirements, supporting information acquisition and collation, conducting analysis and disseminating finished reports and products as directed by the head of IM and Analysis;
    • Compile and disseminate monthly and quarterly incident reports;
    • Conduct research to investigate and analyze the source of IED components and material;
    • Research, analyze and present findings on the flow of IED components and material;
    • Liaise and collaborate with appropriate national, regional and international stakeholders to facilitate information sharing;
    • Provide briefings and presentations of analytical findings and conclusions;
    • Continually assess post-blast imagery to identify IED components used in the construction of explosive devices.
    • Review incident reporting to monitor IED aggressor tactics, techniques and procedures;
    • Identify lessons learned as the result of IED incidents;
    • Monitor and report on wider regional factors that facilitate the production and deployment of IEDs;
    • Maintain and create IED data visualization dashboards;
    • Supportly weekly QA/QC of IED incident data;
    • Review all available IED-related reporting;
    • Implement any other tasks requested by the IM and Analysis Advisor.

    Education/Experience/Language requirements

    Education 

    • Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; OR
    • First Level University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; OR
    • Secondary/High School diploma, Police or Military College with a minimum of 11 years of relevant experience.

    Work Experience 

    • Relevant experience is defined as experience in Security, Police, Defense Intelligence or Threat Analysis.
    • Experience supporting IED threat mitigation operations, weapons technical intelligence or explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) operations is desired.
    • Experience in report writing is required.

    Language

    • Fluency in English (spoken, written and reading) is required;
    • Knowledge of another UN official language is desired.
