    1-      Role Description

    The IT Assistant Officer of Galmudug State of Somalia’s CBS Branch will be responsible for all hardware and software related issues within the branch, including but not limited to servers, workstations, printers, and other IT equipment. They will also be responsible for maintaining network connectivity and security, as well as ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

    2-      General Description

    The Central Bank of Somali’s Galmudug State Brach is responsible for carrying out the Banks’ mission, vision, institutional policies, goals, and objectives as state level. To this end, the CBS’s state branch entrusted with fostering economic development and preserving the stability of the country’s financial system stability at state level. In addition, the state branch will be responsible for providing banking services to the state government “Galmudug State”, other financial services, commercial banks, and the public at state level as the CBS’s Headquarters delegates. The IT Assistant Officer of CBS’s Galmudug State of Somalia Brach will assist the branch manager to carry out the day-to-day operations of the branch.

    3-      Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provides technical support and assistance to branch staff and customers in the use of computer systems, software, and equipment.
    • Ensures branch computer systems and equipment are in good working condition and comply with security and compliance regulations.
    • Installs and configures software, applications, and updates as required.
    • Provides training and guidance to branch staff on the use of computer systems and software.
    • Participates in IT projects and initiatives as required.
    • Maintains and troubleshoots computer systems and network infrastructure, including servers, desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
    • Assists with the implementation of security measures to protect the bank’s computer systems and data from unauthorized access.
    • Supports the bank’s staff with the Core-banking system and the ERP.
    • Monitors and maintains the bank’s network security, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of the bank’s disaster recovery plan.
    • Adheres to all bank policies and procedures, including those related to security and data protection.
    • Provides training and guidance to bank employees on the use of IT systems and software.
    • Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by the Brach Manager.

    Education:

    ·         The ideal candidate of this position must have a bachelor’s degree in IT or related fields.

    ·         Professional certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA or MCSA will also be an added advantage.

    Work Experience:

    ·         Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a related field.

    ·         Experience in a Core-banking system and ERP system will be an added advantage.

    ·         Experience with network security, firewalls and regulatory compliance is also a plus.

    Language:

    ·         Operationally fluent in both Somali and English.

    Computer Skills:

    ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with banking software and systems.

    ·         Retains accurate records of all IT-related systems and procedures.

    ·          Ensuring that all IT hardware and software has the appropriate licenses and is up to date.

    ·         Being current with changes to IT infrastructure and systems, and as necessary, recommending new technological solutions.

    ·         Ensuring compliance with legal requirements for data management, data protection, and IT systems.

    ·         Providing IT related technical support to all branch’s employees.
