1. Job Purpose and Summary

The Network Security Administrator is responsible for the design and implementation of network architecture in bank environments, ensuring networks are running smoothly, upgrading networks to provide maximum performance, and providing technical assistance to team members with system and network requests. He/she ensures the network meets the standards of security and compliance with PCI DSS and ISO 27001.

1. Key Responsibilities

• Installing, administering, and troubleshooting network security solutions.
  Updating software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
• Configuring security systems, analyzing security requirements, and recommending improvements.
• Reviewing network policies and access to ensure it meets the security standard.
• Regularly perform data backups and ensure recovery readiness.
• Documenting configurations, incidents, and solutions to ensure effective IT management and troubleshooting.
• Deploy and support large, complex firewalls and VPNs. infrastructures.
• Monitor traffic sizes against capacity plan and ensure regular health check of network infrastructure as well as performance to ensure continuous availability and optimal performance.
• Developing, managing, and testing back-up and recovery plans and ensuring that high availability is functioning properly.
• Setup and document network related processes and procedures for Business Continuity.
• Perform under limited supervision, maintain reliability of network connectivity, and assist in developing and implementing standards for network security and configuration.

1. Skills, Competencies, and Experience

The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent from a recognized university.
• At least three (4) years in network administration with experience deploying network and architecting the network technologies used should be (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet) in production environments.
• CCNP and NSE 4 or higher certification as well as strong problem solving and network designing.
• Proficiency in various operating systems like Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
• Work experience in a bank or other financial services organization would be an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills – a self-motivated team player and leader
